Have a plan to vote this year?
There's a real fight underway over Washington's elections. Under Executive Order 14399 (signed March 31, 2026), the federal government is demanding state voter data and has proposed restricting mail-in ballots for states that don't comply. Washington has refused to hand over sensitive voter information, and the matter is now in federal court.
What that means for you
- Your ballot may not come in the mail this year,
- the rules could shift, so don't leave your vote to chance.
- ✅ Watch for your ballot in the mail as usual.
- ✅ If it doesn't arrive, you can get and cast your ballot in person at the Skagit County Auditor's Elections Division.
- ✅ Confirm your registration and ballot status at the Skagit County Auditor or the WA Secretary of State.
And on your 2026 ballot, write in our candidates for Coroner, Sheriff, Treasurer, and Clerk, people who will honor their oath.
